The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention, Incorporated or ECBACC, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit literacy and arts organization. The signature event was founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in May 2002 by Mr. Yumy Odom and the organization was registered in 2008. As the forerunner in urban comic book and sci-fi conventions, ECBACC offers year-round programs including S.T.AR.S., for Storytelling That Advances Reading Skills, and E.S.T.E.A.M., which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. With your help, the creative voices of future authors, artists, actors, and leaders will not go unheard!

Over 20 Years of Service!ECBACC has a distinct cultural and historical mission that goes beyond selling, sharing, and trading comic books and related memorabilia / paraphernalia. A core component of the 5-fold mission is to establish a connection (ECBACC Synergy) between creators (artists, writers, editors, et al.) and aficionados (fans) to serve as a model / template for community-based conventions. Thus far, we have succeeded on every level thanks to the founding members / contributors of The 1st Convention in May, 2002: William H, Foster III, Jerry Craft, Omar Bilal, et al; and our Board members, past and present: Akinşeye Brown, VP; Stephanie Brandford, Treasurer; Shenkarr Davis, Secretary; Maurice Waters, former VP! In addition, special thanks I give to Turtel Onli, whose “Black Age of Comics” concept (Chicago - 1981) was consciously employed in 2002 to link The Black Indie Komix concept (Brooklyn - 1986) of First World Komix to the broader comic book community / industry.
